Appearance, Function and Applications

The Architrave Toggle switch acts like a regular rocker switch but looks different. It has a short shaft with a ball on the end with a central fulcrum, press the Toggle switch downwards to turn on, and press it upwards to turn off, an audible click will occur when turning on/off the Toggle switch.

The Architrave Switches are designed to fit in the smallest of places within your home, office or other commercial environment, or even a Campervan/Caravan.

Varilight's Architrave Toggle switches are suitable for controlling mains and low voltage lighting, halogen, incandescent GLS, LEDs and any other lighting that does not require dimming.

They are also suitable for either 1 way, or 2 way circuits, i.e. where the same lights are controlled by 2 seperate switches, and can be paired with a rotary dimmer (more info below). If the lighting circuit is controlled by three switches, in seperate locations then one of the switches in the circuit must be an Intermediate Switch with four terminals enabling you to link all three switches together.

Limitations

This switch is not waterproof.

If you need a dimmer to use in conjunction with this product, then choose one of the following rotary dimmers: if dimming LEDs choose either the V-Pro or V-Com Dimmer Series. If dimming mains and Low Voltage then choose V-Plus Dimmer Series, and if only dimming incandescent lighting, then choose V-Dim.

Cleaning

This product can be easily cleaned with a soft dry micro-fibre cloth. Never apply masking tape or other similar tape to the product. Avoid the use of any cleaning chemicals and always use a Gasket on freshly plastered, painted or damp walls as the plates may tarnish. (Plaster can take up to 6 months to dry out). A Gasket can be made from the packaging the product comes in, or a plastic bag can be cut to stop the plate touching the plaster. Unfortunately, if these Instructions are not followed, and the plate is damaged, it will void the product warranty.
