Appearance, Function and Applications

The Toggle switch acts like a regular rocker switch but looks different. It has a short shaft with a ball on the end with a central fulcrum, press the Toggle switch downwards to turn on, and press it upwards to turn off, an audible click will occur when turning on/off the Toggle switch.

Our standard toggle switches are suitable for controlling mains and low voltage lighting, halogen, incandescent GLS, LEDs and any other lighting that does not require dimming.

Intermediate or 3 way switches are to be used where the lighting circuit is controlled by three switches (or 1 dimmer and 2 switches) often called a 3 way or intermediate circuit, this switch has four terminals on the back, enabling you to link all three switches, of the circuit, together. Make sure, on the 3 way circuit, that the other two switches are 2 way (or 1 dimmer and 1 switch). For example, imagine a room with 3 sets of doors leading in to that room and one ceiling light circuit. The switches beside two doorways are 2 way switches, beside the third doorway, the switch would be a 3 way. Another scenario: imagine the same room with 3 doorways and ceiling light circuit. Beside one doorway is a 2 way switch, another doorway has a dimmer switch, and the third doorway has a 3 way switch.

If you would prefer a dimmer instead, then choose one of the following dimmers: if dimming LEDs choose either the V-Pro or V-Com Series; If dimming mains and Low Voltage then choose the V-Plus Dimmer Series, and if only dimming incandescent lighting, then choose V-Dim Thermal Dimmer Series.

Cleaning

This product can be easily cleaned with a soft dry micro-fibre cloth. Never apply masking tape or other similar tape to the product. Avoid the use of any cleaning chemicals and always use a Gasket on freshly plastered, painted or damp walls as the plates may tarnish. (Plaster can take up to 6 months to dry out). A Gasket can be made from the packaging the product comes in, or a plastic bag can be cut to stop the plate touching the plaster. Unfortunately, if these Instructions are not followed, and the plate is damaged, it will void the product warranty.
